The Panamanian Solidarity Coordinator with Venezuela today condemned actions by the fascist right against the people and the constitutional government headed by President Nicolás Maduro.
In an event in the Cinta Costera, of this capital, in support of the World Day against Fascism, members of that group denounced that the Bolivarian Republic is the object of a brutal siege by the United States, the European Union and a group of vassal governments that support them.
In a statement from the group, it is pointed out that with the violent attacks increasing after the presidential elections on July 28, the hegemonic oligarchy seeks to seize valuable natural resources in addition to the world’s first oil reserve or the territory that it owns 25 percent. of gas reserves.
Venezuela has been subjected to an economic blockade and the dispossession of its assets over the last decade, a high price that its citizens must pay for defying imperial guidelines, adds the text presented at the demonstration.
Among the participants, Elixsandro Ballesteros, former ambassador of Panama in Caracas in the government of Martin Torrijos (2004-2009), rejected that the current administration of José Raúl Mulino assumes an interventionist and submissive position to the international right and fascist currents.
For his part, the director of the Bayano Digital newspaper, journalist David Carrasco, indicated that many Panamanians remain in solidarity with the most just and progressive causes such as the one represented by the Bolivarian Revolution, which is today the target of cyberattacks and new expressions of fascist violence. .
In her message, the Coordinator also repudiated that in the recent 79th United Nations General Assembly, the representation of the isthmus silenced the issue of Israel’s genocide on Gaza and southern Lebanon, a criminal aggression that deserves the strongest condemnation.
