The technology company Apple apparently has to pay NOK 125 million in Russia after a control body determined that they abused their dominance in the app market.
This was announced by Russia’s State Antimonopoly Organization (FAS) in a Telegram post on Monday.
In 2020, FAS decided that Apple had abused its dominant market position. They ordered Apple to remove the provisions that give it the right to refuse third-party apps from its App Store.
FAS further writes that Apple has appealed the decision several times, but claims that they have now paid the fine. Apple has not commented on the case, but has previously stated that they disagreed with the decision.
