Faruk Koca, who punched the referee Halil Umut Meler after the MKE Ankaragücü-Çaykur Rizespor match played in the Trendyol Super League and was arrested the next day and sent to Sincan Closed Penal Institution, was released today under judicial control upon the objection of his lawyers.
Faruk Koca, who was released at noon and went home, met with the yellow-dark blue fans, who decided to keep watch at Tandoğan Facilities until his release, in the evening.
Thousands of fans welcomed Faruk Koca with fireworks and torches and showed their love for him.
“I APOLOGIZE FOR INTERRUPTING THE AGENDA OF GAZA CHILDREN”
Addressing the fans who welcomed him, Faruk Koca apologized again for the events and said:
“I would like to thank all of you for the support you have given here day and night for 15 days. I am very embarrassed and sorry for causing you such an incident. It was something that was unexpected from me. I apologize to them for occupying the world agenda, the Turkish agenda, especially the agenda of Gaza children, women and the oppressed people of the world.” I wish and ask for forgiveness. Because while the oppression and massacre continues, the agenda should be those of those oppressed people. I would like to express my sadness for taking the agenda of the martyrs in Turkey. The agenda should be theirs. I am very sorry to occupy the agenda with this issue while there is so much pain and suffering. “I apologize to my friends whom I have known in my 35 years of business, political and social life and who did not expect such a thing from me.”
“PLEASE LET’S EMPATHY”
Emphasizing that he has always opposed injustice, Koca said, “There are some values that I have adopted as a principle in life. We should not give reasons to justify the unjust or the thief. Unfortunately, with a punch against those who carried out these events, I felt like I justified them. The only thing that all clubs and fans all over the world expect is justice. “The greatest luxury of people who come to the stadium after cutting off their families’ livelihood is to watch the football match that makes them happy. Please let’s empathize so as not to violate these people’s rights.” he said.
Faruk Koca stated that what he did was not right and continued his words as follows:
“I never defend this action I took. All my friends who know me can be sure that I am perhaps the last person who would do this action. However, we are human beings. We react to the wrongs and injustices we see. The form of the reaction may be wrong, but to be human, to be a man; It is to react and object to injustice, wrong. There are some values that I have adopted as a principle in life. I do not want to receive any undeserved title. I do not want to leave here as a hero figure. Heroes are the oppressed people of the world, regardless of religion, language or race. Heroes these days are Muslims, children and women from Gaza “I do not want to appear as a heroic figure by violating their rights. Please be fair to all stakeholders for these events only from today onwards.”
Emphasizing that he felt uncomfortable in being on the agenda with such a thing while experiencing the pain of the martyrs, Koca said, “I would like to thank everyone who visited me in prison and shared my pain for this disgusting, painful, unintentional incident. I cannot repay them. Especially by resisting injustice in this winter cold.” I would like to thank everyone who came to the hearts of this community. Do not leave the club alone. I would like to thank the club presidents, football fans, Clubs Union Foundation President Ali Koç and club presidents in Turkey and around the world for their support on this issue. I would like to thank the fans of all the clubs who sent messages in prison and “I would also like to thank the fans who sent lawyers and representatives.” He concluded his words by saying.
