The roof of a farmhouse on Noordeind street in Emmen caught fire this evening. The street was closed by the police.
The fire probably started at the back of the farm. Several fire engines were deployed to extinguish the fire in the thatched roof.
On Instagram, Emmer entrepreneur Vasco Rouw lets us know that he is the owner of the farm. “To be clear: it is not the house I live in, but the house that we were going to build. It was empty.”
The entrepreneur says that it is not clear what happened. “Luckily everyone is unhurt and no one was injured or anything. But it is wild, which is intense.”
