A group of farmers entered the A7 highway on Friday evening in the direction of Drachten to Heerenveen. A blockade has been erected by the police near Tjalleberd to stop the farmers.
The police went to the A7 with many vehicles. There, an attempt was made to stop the farmers, who were driving slowly on the highway, by building a police blockade. Seeing that blockade, the tractors turned around and went wrong driving in the other direction. There, however, they encountered a police blockade, which the tractors then drove around via the verge. “They have really created a very dangerous situation,” said a police spokesman.
At Tijnje, the tractors eventually left the highway.
It is not yet clear whether any fines have been issued or whether people have been arrested.
