Farmers pay their last respects to Piet Paulusma with tractors along the road between Harlingen and Herbaijum

Dozens of farmers paid their last respects to weatherman Piet Paulusma on Saturday morning. They were standing with their tractors along the highway between Harlingen and Herbaijum when the funeral procession passed.

Paulusma’s fellow villagers were standing at the Oant Moarn cafe, the bell of the village church tolled continuously, flags hung out (not at half mast at the request of the family).

Piet Paulusma died last Sunday at the age of 65 from the effects of cancer. The public said goodbye to him in Harlingen on Friday. The funeral will be held privately on Saturday.
