The farmers are escalating their mobilizations against the policy of the Mitsotakis government, which is under suffocating pressure, with Michalis Chrysochoidis saying “no” to the landing with tractors.
“The answer we got is negative for the descent of the tractors in Athens, but we believe that the government will reconsider and, as in all European cities in the corresponding and similar mobilizations, the same will happen in our country. As representatives of the blocks that we met with the minister, we declare that we will implement the decision we made in Nice.
On Tuesday we will start with tractors, buses and cars and we will descend on Athens for the big rally, in which we invite the people of the capital to fight this battle together. Our victory will be the victory of the people to have cheaper products on their table”, explained the president of the Federation of Agricultural Associations of Larissa, Rizos Maroudas.
Which roads will be closed today?
Saturday’s demonstrations will take place in areas of western and northern Greece.
From 10 in the morning the farmers will block the Thessaloniki-Moudanion National Highway, which will probably not be open throughout the weekend. The old E.O. will also be blocked. Ioannina – Kozani at the Kalpaki interchange.
