“Farmers in Serbia Stage Large Protest Over Unfair Prices and Government Inaction”

A large protest was held by farmers in Serbia, Danas reported.

They stopped traffic on the highway between Eastern Serbia and Belgrade. Hundreds joined the action

There were protests in cities across the country. Such are Nis and Novi Sad.

A meeting was held with the government on Monday. His representatives have not accepted the terms.

The protesters want funding of up to three hundred euros per hectare of arable land. Additional reliefs are also planned, such as determining the price of agricultural products.

For a year there have been reports of a problem with prices that do not correspond to the farmers’ production.
