Farmers do not show up at the Four Days Marches entry in Nijmegen | Inland

The foreman of the farmer’s action group Farmers Defense Force, Mark van den Oever, says in an app message that the farmers will now meet on Friday in a pasture belonging to a cattle farmer in Middelaar. A podium has been built there, but on Friday morning it was not yet busy at that location, where the Four Days Marches runners also pass by. The action farmers will hand out cheese, eggs and dairy to passing walkers.

According to Van den Oever, the tractor that FDF took to Nijmegen could not park on the spot that the municipality had cleared. “There was no space. The municipality has not kept to the agreement,” he says. The tractor is now in the meadow in Middelaar with about ten other tractors. Van den Oever expects about fifty farmers in Middelaar, he said Friday morning.

During all four days of the Four Days Marches, farmers have offered cheese and other refreshments to walkers at various places along the route. Tractors with action flags were also parked here and there on the roadside or in meadows along the course. That went without any problems everywhere.
