Brazil – In the 6th season of “Farmer seeks wife International”, millions of viewers were able to witness how Ulrike (57) and Heiko (56) fell in love and became a dream couple. Their fairytale love story began in front of the cameras, but reality presents the couple with great challenges – the two are separated by more than 9,000 kilometers. The widowed Ulrike lives in the Brazilian jungle and harvests eucalyptus, while Heiko continues to live in Bavaria.

The great distance between Brazil and Bavaria is an immense strain on their relationship. Ulrike is suffering from the long-distance relationship and tries to distract herself with work. A recent Instagram photo shows her concentrating on the coffee harvest. “Always distract yourself with work so you don’t feel so alone,” she comments bravely, but also a little sadly. Some of her 18,600 followers encourage her: “I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it won’t be that long now. You are by far the sweetest couple,” writes one user.

A move to Brazil involves many hurdles for Heiko. “My farm is being renovated so that Heiko can keep himself busy here, because he doesn’t want to be a burden on me or sit around doing nothing,” Ulrike told OKmag.de. Heiko is currently faced with financial challenges: “An international move like this involves various unforeseen costs that are beyond my means at the moment. Further considerations are necessary. As I have just said, the financial aspect is the thing that makes everything even more difficult for me.”

Despite the difficulties, Ulrike shows her deep connection and trust in their shared love in a very special way: with a large tattoo on her forearm. On her Instagram account, she unveiled an XXL motif showing a wolf – her spirit animal – and a lion, which represents the star sign of her lover Heiko. “I love my new tattoo,” she announced in an accompanying clip.
