Farmer Michelle from BzV became a mother for the first time

While a select group of single farmers are ready to find true love for a new series of Farmer seeks wife, Michelle once again proves the success of the program. She met Maarten during her participation in 2018. Not only is the couple now married, but they have also sealed their love with the birth of their daughter.

Michelle gave birth to Jasmijn on November 16. “In the first few weeks, we consciously chose to use this time to get to know each other and get used to each other. And we are so happy about that,” says the brand new mother. “It’s going incredibly well now. Breastfeeding is going great, Jasmine is growing like weeds and there are even some nights when she sleeps through the night for eight hours.”

Michelle: “I had a caesarean section, and because of the epidural, Jasmijn could not immediately lie on my chest. That is why Maarten had her on the chest. Well, that look, that was love at first sight between the two.”

The couple deliberately kept the sex of their first child a secret, but that they had a girl was convenient. “We both think Jasmine is a very beautiful name, so it should have just been that way.” Although Michelle and Maarten are now enjoying their daughter, they don’t hide their plans for the future: “We would love to have more children. Plenty of room here on the farm!”
