Farmer Evert and Maud speak for the first time about their relationship: ‘Not just easy…’

Maud canceled her rent immediately after the final of BzV and came to live on Evert’s farm. Quite different from the more urban life she was used to for years. How do you like that? ‘I used to live in a village too. After all, I am also more of a village person than a city person. I really like Ruinerwold. It’s all Maud here, as I say. But to be honest, life on a farm isn’t all easy…’

‘For example, I think the days are very long. That’s because I get up here at six and then go help milking at seven. At six o’clock in the evening we milk again. Then Evert does another round and then it can just be twelve o’clock. He really only sleeps six hours, so do I when I go on the evening round. But don’t get me wrong, I’m doing it voluntarily, aren’t I? I don’t need anything from Evert and I can do everything. If I stay in bed until one o’clock in the afternoon, you won’t hear him either. But that’s not how I am. And of course I want to be with him!’

To marry

Whoever speaks to Maud and Evert, sees that the dairy farmer does not have to regret his TV adventure for a moment. Happiness just about splashes off the bunch! Is there another farm wedding in the offing? ‘No, we’re not going to get married,’ Maud continues. ‘It’s quite funny: we both think exactly the same. It doesn’t add much to us.’
