Färjestad announces that Victor Ejdsell will leave the club after the season.
The 28-year-old forward has been a great success with the league leader.
– Naturally, we have had the ambition to extend his contract, says sporting director Rickard Wallin.
Victor Ejdsell has an expiring contract with Färjestad after five seasons.
It has been speculated for some time whether he would stay or continue his career abroad.
That Victor Ejdsell has now decided to leave Färjestad is big news.
– There has been a lot of thinking here and there, it must be admitted. The option to stay here and fight for the club that is closest to my heart is and always will be an option, says Victor Ejdsell.
“Nothing to rave about”
The tall and point-producing forward has finished with an as-yet-unnamed club.
– It’s nothing to brag about, the opportunity I’ve now been given is too hard to turn down. I don’t make bad money here at all, but the career is short. It will also be an adventure with games in another country and another league, which is also attractive, of course, says Victor Ejdsell.
Rickard Wallin admits that they worked hard to keep their star player and crowd favorite.
– We are very happy about his season and have always had a good dialogue, which was both honest and transparent from both sides. Now that an alternative has been presented elsewhere, he has chosen it, we can only wish him luck, says Rickard Wallin.
Leading player at the table
In the 31 games so far this season, there have been 27 points (15 goals and twelve assists).
With that, Victor Ejdsell is second in the SHL’s shooting league and sixth best in the scoring league.
Teammate David Tomasek tops the scoring league with 18 goals and is third in the scoring league with 30 points (Ty Rattie in Linköping tops the scoring league with 33 points).
Victor Ejdsell from Hagfors participated and won the SM gold in 2022.
