The Duke of Edinburgh is taken to a funeral ceremony at St George’s Chapel in the Windsor Castle complex, in the presence of immediate family members. The funeral ceremony will be broadcast on television all over the world, the main part of the ceremony will start at 4 pm Latvian time.
Prince Philip himself wanted his funeral to be as quiet and down-to-earth as possible, so ordinary people would not be able to see his coffin in public.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, only 30 people will be able to attend the funeral, who will have to wear face masks and keep their distance from each other.
During the funeral, the Prince’s coffin will be transported from Windsor Castle by a specially modified Land Rover SUV to St. George’s Chapel, a hundred meters away, where it will be buried in a special location.
Spouse of Queen Elizabeth II Prince Philip passed away on Friday morning, April 9, at Windsor Castle. He would have celebrated his 100th anniversary on June 10, but Philip’s health has been very fragile lately.
