Actor Milan Švarc remembered his first meeting with Svatopluk Matyáš when he arrived at the Motol crematorium. “It was my first engagement after school. He invited me to lunch and even let me sleep with him that night because I didn’t have to. where to go. He just gave me a helping hand. “

The staff included the actor and Matyáš’s good friend Antonín Hardt. He revealed that actress Jiřina Bohdalová called him in the middle of the ceremony. “I turned it off and she called me again that she didn’t know where the funeral was. Actor and drummer Dalimil Klapka, former president of the acting association Jiří Hromada or his successor actor and director Ondřej Kepka also came to say goodbye. During the ceremony, the mourners were able to watch a compilation of Matyáš’s most significant and well-known film roles.

Svatopluk Matyáš is best known for his role as editor Ivo Holan in the series 30 cases of Major Zeman. But he is also known from the films Heavenly Riders, Meeting in July, Scalpel, please or Action Bororo. He also starred in the series The Stone Order and Friends of the Green Valley and also starred in the TV projects Nova On je žena a Ulice.

His late wife Věra Benšová, with whom he had one daughter, played Baton Out of the Bag and The Princess with the Golden Star in popular Czech fairy tales. She is buried in Slovakia, where the remains of Svatopluk Matyáš will now be transported.
