They were still in a very bad condition a few days ago and the workers had to at least temporarily repair them so that a dignified farewell to the actress could take place there, which not only Czech viewers remember as Cinderella from the fairy tale of the same name.
At the same time, the staff also looked into the interior of the tabernacle, where on Friday it will be a farewell to Libuše Šafránková, first for those interested in the public, and later for the bereaved, friends and colleagues.
“The church will be open on Fridays from 10 am to 2 pm so that people can enter. Then at two o’clock the preparations for the service will begin, which will start at four in the afternoon. Only guests will be able to come here, there will be big screens outside, so it should there should be enough space, “priest Petr Regalát Beneš explained Friday’s program. He said that the smooth running of the pieta will also be supervised by police officers.
Beneš mentioned that the parish also has professional musicians at its disposal. “We are already arranging an organist, there will probably be a choir with a small orchestra,” the priest mentioned. The favorite actress went to church very often, and he also met her here.
“It was her place of heart and not just the church. She came here regularly until she fell ill. On Sundays we have a service for parents with children and she used to come here with her grandchildren regularly,” the priest described. She was always said to be friendly, but at the same time she kept her privacy. “We didn’t even want to extract it,” Beneš said.
He believes that the church in the Prague housing estate has not yet experienced an event comparable to the last farewell to the popular representative of Cinderella. “It has its own uniqueness, it is the first church dedicated to St. Agnes of Bohemia in the world, it was built in the 1930s (last century) during the crisis, but we have not had such a complex organization here,” the clergyman thinks.
