Farewell to Iron Maiden by Paul Di’Anno: “Recently we were talking about West Ham”

Iron Maiden have released a statement in which they bid their final farewell to the original singer, Paul Di’Anno, who has died at 66.

In the statement published on Iron Maiden’s social networks, the band writes: “We are all very saddened to learn of the death of Paul Di’Anno earlier today. Paul’s contribution to Iron Maiden was huge and helped us to go down the path we have been on as a band for almost five decades.. His pioneering presence as a frontman and vocalist, both on stage and on our first two albums, will be fondly remembered not only by us, but by fans around the world. – world “We are very grateful to have had the opportunity to catch up with him a couple of years ago and spend time with him again.”

Born in Chingford, London, on 17 May 1958, Paul became known for his work with Iron Maiden, appearing on their first two hit albums: ‘Iron Maiden’ (1980) and ‘Killers’ (1981).

Once he left the band, Di’Anno maintained a prolific career with Battlezone and Killers, as well as solo.

In recent years, the singer had several health problems that forced him to sing in a wheelchair, although that did not stop the singer, who did not hesitate to undertake the titanic task , in his condition, offering over 100 shows from 2023.
