Born in 1942 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, of English parents, Clare Peploe grew up between England and Italy: from a young age she developed a great interest in cinema and art, studying first at the Sorbonne in Paris. and then at the University of Perugia.
His career has been studded with many successes and marked by important collaborations with great names in Italian cinema: his activity began in 1970 as assistant director of Michelangelo Antonioni in Zabriskie Point.
Six years later Clare first met Bernardo Bertolucci, working with him in the creation of Twentieth century, one of the director’s cult films.
