It was finally to Newcastle United that LOSC decided to transfer Sven Botman. The leaders of the northern club have reached an agreement with the management of the Magpies around a transfer fee estimated between 40 and 45 M€, bonus included, for the 22-year-old central defender. Confirming his departure from LOSC, Sven Botman bid farewell to the supporters of the 2021 French champion club on his Instagram account. “I’m really happy to have worn the LOSC jersey for two years, it was an incredible adventure with two great trophies and memories that I will never forget. Thank you LOSC for everything”he wrote, following a video retracing his time in Lille (from July 2020 to June 2022).

AC Milan doubled by NUFC

After the Dutch championship where he played for Ajax Amsterdam (his training club) and SC Heerenveen in the Eredivisie, Sven Botman will discover a new championship (the 3rd) after two seasons in Ligue 1. He could have go to Italy where AC Milan was one of the first clubs to covet it since the summer of 2021. But the various proposals from the Lombard club were rejected by LOSC, in favor of the highest offer. The Dutch rear however wanted to join the Rossoneri (Serie A champion), in order to compete in the Champions League next season.
