JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BRI transferred all banking services in Aceh to PT Bank Syariah Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BSI.
This transfer is in line with the closure of BRI’s operations in Aceh, in order to follow up on the implementation of Qanun for Sharia Financial Institutions number 11 of 2018.
BRI Corporate Secretary Aestika Oryza Gunarto said, with the termination of BRI services, all portfolios and state-owned banking services have been transferred to BRISyariah, which is currently part of BSI.
“We have gradually transferred our savings and loan portfolios and operational services to BRISyariah during the period July 2019 to December 2020,” said Aestika to Kompas.com, Wednesday (14/4/2021).

With this transfer of services, all branch offices and e-channel BRI, which consists of 11 branch offices, 15 sub-branch offices, 94 BRI units, and 444 ATMs will be operated by BSI.
With the transfer of BRI’s banking portfolios and services to BSI, customers of the bank with the largest assets in Indonesia can carry out banking transactions at BSI.
“Customers (BRI) can transact in the BSI network,” said Aestika.
Previously, the Regional Leader of the BRI Bank Aceh Province Wawan Ruswanto explained that BRI had received the Principle Permit for the Closure of 11 Branch Offices and Regional Offices, but was still waiting for the Permit to Implement the Closure from OJK Jakarta.
“After obtaining a license to carry out the closure, BRI is given 30 working days to carry out the closure of office operations,” he said.
