Every year in January, the CAP-Solutions Culinaires company in Pleucadeuc offers its employees a friendly break. Management and employees meet in the town’s multipurpose room to share an overview of the company’s activities, its projects, its objectives. It is also an opportunity to honor long-service medalists and retirees. In 2023, Loïc Balac, the emblematic director of this company, announced that he would exercise his retirement rights in… 2024. Reason why, the 2024 edition of this ceremony which took place late Friday morning, took on a very particular dimension. It was in fact the last medal ceremony carried out by the director, Loïc Balac…

Loïc Balac is not quite a boss like the others. He is a keen manager who combines high-level technical skills with an extraordinary human dimension. These meetings at the start of the year are an expression of this: they note the constant development of the company in an atmosphere of a large family reunion. This consideration of humans has had an unprecedented consequence in recent years with the decision taken by Loïc Balac and Jacques Pidoux, the boss of BCF Life Sciences, to build an inter-company associative crèche. The two men share the conviction that the development of the company also requires the well-being of its employees. They implement it and thus both demonstrate that social action goes hand in hand with economic growth.

Valentin Joubreil, successor to Loïc Balac

The figures are there to validate this strategy: under the leadership of Loïc Balac, CAP’s turnover increased from 35 million in 2014 to 50 million in 2024. We understand that Loïc Balac’s announcement of his wish to retire has plunged the management of the Jean Floc’h group – of which CAP is a part – into perplexity. In January 2023, Michel Boulaire, the group’s CEO, drew up the ideal profile of Loïc Balac’s successor with a very specific characteristic: that this successor be attached to the Pleucadeuc territory. “It wasn’t necessarily obvious…” admits Michel Boulaire. And yet, the group found internally the candidate who ticked all the boxes and even that of the link with Pleucadeuc. This is Valentin Joubreil who was also officially presented on Friday during the presentation of the labor medal. The latter is in place at the head of CAP in duplicate with Loïc Balac until April 1, when the latter will actually leave the company.

Friday’s ceremony was therefore full of emotion. Loïc Balac was one of today’s medalists for his 35 years in business. In his speech, Michel Boulaire retraced the career of Loïc Balac, emphasizing the 9 years they shared together which took place “in a spirit of work, reflection, serenity”, underlined Michel Boulaire, evoking these carefully planned projects. weighed which saw the light of day…

Professional through and through, Loïc Balac sent a message to his teams. He recalled the values of Olympism: friendship, respect but also excellence, inviting his colleagues to apply them in the company. “If we want to succeed in meeting the challenges, we must not hesitate to be in excellence but on a daily basis…/…Continue to preserve these values and you will be able to take on even more great challenges in 2024”, a- he said.

As usual, the ceremony ended with the presentation of long service medals, a tribute to retirees and a shared meal…
