Three years ago, Farah announced that he would no longer run in the stadium, but returned to the treadmill on Friday. 37-year-old Farah won 5,000 and 10,000 meters at the 2012 and 2016 Olympics, and is a six-time world champion.
The record for the women’s race was also broken on Friday. Hasan ran 18 kilometers and 930 meters in 60 minutes, beating 413 meters in 2008 by the Ethiopian Dires Tunes.
Israeli Lona Čemtai Salpetere was 359 meters behind, but Kenya’s Eva Cherono, who was breaking the African record, was 589 meters shorter.
On Friday, the Diamond League record in the women’s 1000 meters was also broken, with Kenyan runner Faitai Kipjegon covering the distance in two minutes and 29.92 seconds.
Meanwhile, Armands Duplantiss won in the men’s 6.00 meters. The Swede wanted to threaten Sergei Bubka’s record and raised the bar to 6.15 meters, but this height was not possible for him.
In the men’s 1500 meters, the Norwegian Jākobs Ingebrigtsen was the first to cross the finish line.
This season, the Diamond League stages will also take place in Rome and Doha, where the end of the season is also scheduled for September 25.
