From the Economist’s 8th session on Sustainability in South-Eastern Europe and the Mediterranean, the candidate President of SYRIZA and professor of European Law and Energy Law, Nikolas Faradouris, spoke on the SKAI show Mismatches today, Monday, October 14.
“The poor percentages, neither of PASOK, nor of the other minor opposition parties, do not bring down Mitsotakis. Mr. Mitsotakis can discuss an appointment with Mr. Androulakis, but what society wants are alternative proposals for precision, demographics, health, and these alternative policies will only come if there is a strong progressive front,” stressed Nikos Farandouris.
“I will shortly announce from the Economist conference the basic principles of our program on reducing energy costs, energy democracy, sustainability and the climate crisis. – We are the country with the highest energy costs in Europe on average over the last four years. Eurostat, households, the market say it: energy costs are unbearable. Unbearable burden on households and businesses. Instead of engaging in gossip that does not honor the official opposition party, we will finally talk politically. I have submitted a program of 10 axes (here), among which is the energy cost which is unaffordable and cuts across other policies, such as demographics, housing, family, youth entrepreneurship for example. How can a young person have children who can’t pay their rent or their electricity bill,” he noted in his intervention.
“Our internal affairs in SYRIZA should stop overshadowing our proposals. They are no longer of interest to society. What she is interested in is removing the official opposition at the height of the circumstances with extroversion and a political proposal”, said the candidate for president of the party regarding the goings-on inside SYRIZA.
