Former Paris Saint-Germain youth academy product Yacine Adli offered a bold look at Neymar Jr. and Ronaldinho. The 24-year-old spent time from 2013 to 2019, so he crossed paths with Neymar during his time in the French capital.
PSG have long been linked with Brazilian standouts Neymar and Ronaldinho, but instead of reflecting on their time in Paris, Adli was asked who was the best player.
Although Adli may not remember Ronaldinho’s time PSGhe should have known the type of player the Brazilian was. Even so, he may have been rubbing shoulders with Neymar, but the midfielder believes that Neymar is the best player.
“When Neymar arrived in Paris, he was like an alien,” said Adli (h/t RMC Sports). “Everything he did was amazing. Passing, dribbles… he could do everything. Games with small sides … he never lost the ball. He would score 7-8 goals in minor matches. He would bring the ball, and pam-pam, pam-pam! It was a tool. I’ve never seen a player like that.
“Sometimes, there are debates between Neymar and Ronaldinho. Neymar is much better than Ronaldinho. I say that with all truth. Neymar is also, too, too strong. For me, he is slightly below Messi and Ronaldo.
During his time with the capital club, Neymar recorded 118 goals and 77 assists in 173 appearances across all competitions. Meanwhile, Ronaldinho made 77 appearances in all competitions, scoring 25 goals and providing 17 assists for the French giants.
It would be interesting to see what people who have seen both players in their prime have to say about this.
