Far-right PVV largest party in polls for Dutch elections

In the penultimate poll bypeil.nl before the elections, conducted among a representative group of almost 7,000 respondents, the PVV gained 5 seats, bringing it to 26. This puts the party on par with the VVD of outgoing Prime Minister Mark Rutte, which loses one seat compared to last week and also goes to 26. There are 150 seats to be allocated in the Dutch House of Representatives.

Pieter Omtzigt’s New Social Contract seems to be losing more and more ground in the polls in recent weeks. While NSC still had 31 virtual seats at the end of October, a week later this had already dropped to 30. Last week the party was still at the top with 28, but it has now dropped to third place with only 23 seats. This also puts the party on par with the merged left-wing GroenLinks-PvdA.
