Far Cry 6 will not fall into the Cyberpunk 2077 trap – will show the PS4 and Xbox One versions soon

In an interview with VGC Far Cry 6 designer David Grivel says the developers at Ubisoft Toronto do not want to hide the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game. Nor do they expect these versions to present development problems.

– Over the next weeks and months, we will definitely start showing the game on more platforms. What I can say, and I can not go into too much detail on specifications and such, is that the game runs well on both the previous generation and on the Xbox Series and PlayStation 5 generation.

Thus, it seems that Ubisoft Toronto does not want to fall into the same trap as Cyberpunk 2077. Before the launch last year, there was very little info on how CD Project’s big game would look on the old consoles, except for some videos that demonstrated PlayStation 4 Pro and the Xbox One X versions. The result was that the studio ended up publicly apologizing for the poor performance of the game on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

– Will not downgrade PS4 and Xbox One

Grivel further says that the game will run at 60 frames per second in 4K resolution on the new consoles, and that this is something he sees as a very good effect of the jump to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X / S.

– This does not mean that the previous generation is downgraded in any way. We are very, very careful on that point, so we will go into more detail and show more info soon. But yes, we will take care of it on all platforms, both the previous console generation, the new console generation, PC, Statia, Luna and all that, he says further in the interview.

Far Cry 6 arrives on October 7, for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X / S, PlayStation 5, Stadia, Luna and Windows.

The game takes you to the Cuba-inspired island of Yara in the Caribbean. Here we get to explore both tropical, colorful areas, and degraded urban complexes, such as the capital Esperanza which suffers under the regime.

We take the role of Dani Rojas, who hangs on to the resistance movement in Yara, and takes up the fight against dictator Antón Castillos.
