The Spartan C-27 J aircraft of the Peruvian Air Force received the first major Check C1 and C3 maintenance carried out by Italian and Peruvian specialists, thanks to the Specific Agreement managed by the Directorate of Industrial and Social Compensations – Offset, of the Ministry of Defense signed with the Italian company Leonardo SpA last December, achieving the certification of 10 specialists from said military institution, who received training and transfer of Know How knowledge from the aforementioned company.
This was announced by the Vice Minister of Defense Resources of Mindef, Adolfo Herrera Orlandini, who attended the Callao Air Base on behalf of Minister Walter Astudillo Chávez for the presentation of results after the offset agreement signed between the ministry and the company. Italian.
“These works carried out have saved a significant sum of money to the national treasury since it was carried out by the Leonardo company (which sold these aircraft to the country). In this way, we have not carried out tenders that would have cost us a lot of time and more money,” commented Vice Minister Herrera.

The presentation of these results was attended, in addition to the Vice Minister of Defense Resources, by the General Commander of the Air Force, Air General Carlos Chávez Cateriano, and the Vice President of Marketing and Sales for Latin America of Leonardo SpA, Carlos Bassani, among others. other authorities.
“We thank the Ministry of Defense for this invaluable support because the work has been carried out in Peru without the need to go abroad, which would have cost us a significant amount, in addition to the fact that our technicians have been trained.
