After a slow start of Gameweek 21 in the Fantasy Premier League, the likes of Patrick Bamford [one goal, two assists] et Mohamed Salah [two goals] came to the party and secured respectable scores for most managers.
Tottenham will host Chelsea in this round’s big game, while Man City travel to Burnley.
Elsewhere, Liverpool and Manchester United entertain Brighton and Southampton respectively.
Here are some tips to guide you through GW22.
CAPITAINE – WRONG MOHAMED | LIVERPOOL | 12.6M
After six straight whites, FPL legend Mo Salah ended his drought in spectacular fashion. Two bold quality goals to help Liverpool sideline West Ham have reminded managers of just how good he can be.
He now leads the Golden Boot race with three net goals with 15 to his name and is also the game’s leading points scorer with 146. Naturally he’s back in contention for captain and although that may seem a reflex. Reaction, he had looked sharp lately, scoring twice against United in the FA Cup and was unhappy to see his Tottenham goal ruled out by VAR.
The Reds face Brighton at home who have kept three clean sheets in a row and are fresh out of a win over Spurs. But the hosts remain clearly favorites for this meeting and some commitments for Salah seem likely.
ALTERNATIVE
RAHEEM STERLING (11.6m) was at rest in GW21, much to the chagrin of several FPL managers, but they can take comfort in the fact that this makes him nailed to start this time around. City have scored three or more goals in six of their last seven meetings with Burnley.
BOLD CHOICE
JACK GREALISH (7.7m) has been sensational this season with 15 goals and the most chances created [67].
ONE TO GET
JOHN STONES | MANCHESTER CITY | 5,2 millions
John Stones has had a resurgence this season and, although he was sent back to the bench in the last meeting, he is expected to return to the heart of Man City’s middle defense in GW22. He’s averaging seven points per game in the current campaign, thriving alongside Ruben Dias, and City have kept six clean sheets in their last seven games against Burnley.
ONE TO AVOID
ZOUMA KURT | CHELSEA | 5,6M
He started the season like a house on fire and was the game’s best defender for a spell, but Kurt Zouma’s FPL returns have since been extinguished after losing his place in the starting XI. Poor form saw Frank Lampard drop him off the bench and Thomas Tuchel didn’t watch his way in his first two games either. The center-back has only made one appearance in the last six GWs, but is still held by around 13% at the time of writing.
BUY BUSINESS
ROB HOLDING | ARSENAL | 4,5 M
Mikel Arteta appears to have laid a solid foundation for Arsenal now after a tumultuous start to the season. The Gunners have kept five sheets clean and conceded just one goal in the last six GWs and Rob Holding has been an integral part of their defense. He was also successful in getting some help during this time and represents exceptional value.
