Miley Cyrus has never been more popular than she is right now. Flowers is the biggest hit of her career and has also been at number one in the charts in the Netherlands for six weeks. Expectations for her new album released today Endless Summer Vacation are therefore highly stressed. In addition, the record is accompanied by a lot of rumors.
Miley Cyrus has the music video for her new single River admitted to the same house as Flowers, together with fourteen male dancers. Her ex Liam Hemsworth cheated on her with fourteen women in that house.” It is one of the theories surrounding Cyrus’ new music that fans share on Twitter. The gossip reaches an audience of millions on the social medium.
Around the release of Flowers the rumors were even stronger. The singer would have released the song about self-love after a broken relationship on purpose on her ex’s birthday. The gold dress in the video was a reference to an outfit worn by actress Jennifer Lawrence, with whom he is said to have cheated. The suit she’s wearing is the one Hemsworth wore at the premiere where he told her to behave herself. The stories come up a lot via Twitter and TikTok and it is equally unclear what the source is of all stories.
The theories have in common that they portray Cyrus as a cunning “genius” who gets back at her ex with the success of her music. And Cyrus and her team? They wisely keep their mouths shut. Cyrus once tweeted in 2019, after announcing Hemsworth’s divorce, that cheating was not the cause of their breakup. But the rumors surrounding her lyrics and video clips now seem to add to the interest in her records.

Cyrus sings about a breakup, but also new love
But what does Cyrus leave on her new album Endless Summer Vacation loose yourself? The new number Muddy Feeta collaboration with Sia, seems to be about a cheating partner.
“You smell like perfume that I didn’t purchase. Now I know why you’ve been closing the curtains. Get the fuck out of my house“(You smell like a perfume I didn’t buy. Now I know why you drew the curtains. Get the hell out of my house,” Cyrus sings with abandon. The lyrics are self-explanatory, but of course don’t have to be about Hemsworth.

‘It’s filthy’
A striking number of songs are dedicated to the budding of a new love. Rose Colored Lenses is about the first period of a romance, in which you see everything through rose-colored glasses and assume that you will always be together. Violet Chemistry describes the feeling that you don’t want a new love to leave your side. The song was co-produced by Maxx Morando, the singer’s current boyfriend. He also wrote and produced the sensual Handstand.
Cyrus and her team have River pushed forward as the new single, which the success of Flowers must follow up. While fans are once again looking for all kinds of hints in the video, she herself talks about the meaning of the song in a sneak peek of the Disney + special Endless Summer Vacation (Backyard Sessions).
“It’s filthy,” she says with a laugh. The word she uses to grasp the song’s meaning is censored. But fans on Twitter have already put their own spin on it: “River is about cum.”
The full special, in which Cyrus sings the new songs live and talks about the making process, can be seen in full on the streaming service later today.
