7:34 p.m .: It will start soon
Sting begins at 8:30 p.m. The setlist of one of his concerts as part of this tour included world hits such as “Roxanne”, “Englishman in New York” or “Every Breath You Take”. The chances are good!
7.10 p.m .: Real fans
Some have traveled far, some just want to see world star Sting, others have seen Gordon Sumner, as his real name is, live several times. It is noticeable that not so many came with Sting T-shirts. There are a few – and they proudly show off their concert outfits.

7.02 p.m .: Salzburg, Linz, Klagenfurt
The fans really come to Klagenfurt from everywhere – from Salzburg, Linz or Klagenfurt, for many it is Sting’s first concert. Lisa and her mother Brigitte Fischer from Velden are also at the first Sting concert: “Waited a long time,” the two say. Everyone is looking forward to it, the weather is midsummer – hardly a cloud is visible.

6:00 p.m.: Admission has begun
Now people are already queuing in front of the Wörthersee Stadium. Admission to the concert started at 6 p.m. Families from Linz, Salzburg and Klagenfurt want to see Sting. favorite song? “Desert Rose”. He may also be playing this song from his 1999 album Brand New Day.

5:26 p.m .: There are still parking spaces in front of the stadium
Although the first fans arrived in the early afternoon, there are still parking spaces in front of the stadium. “The concert is a seated concert,” says Daniel Greiner from the Klagenfurt sports park – so you don’t have to queue for “better” seats. Access is possible up to the stadium.
5 p.m.: “The first concert of Sting”
Eddi and Loredana made the journey from Trieste: they were on the road for 3 hours to see Sting. They’re really looking forward to the British superstar, who wrote music history with songs like “Englishman in New York” or “Every Breath You Take” (with “Police”). “A lot of traffic” was, but for the “first concert of Sting” you would take it upon yourself. Many fans have also traveled from the surrounding federal states: Many of them, like a family from Styria, are making themselves comfortable in the shade of the stadium.

4:20 p.m.: Seven hours drive for Sting
Maybe the 10,000 will be cracked today after all: 9,000 fans are expected at today’s concert, but maybe there will be even more. The first visitors are already here. The parking spaces directly in front of the “28 Black Arena” aka Wörthersee Stadium are filling up. Cars from Slovenia, the Czech Republic, Poland and many other federal states have already parked in front of the stadium. At well over 30 degrees Celsius, the fans are already cavorting in front of the stadium, some have bathing suits with them – probably those who know that the Sattnitz river is not far.
Some fans even drove seven hours, like a couple from Poland: “For Sting”, assure themselves, that would be okay. The fans also come from East Tyrol: Barbara, Sonja and Cornelia arrived early so that they could get a good parking space. They have that too – across from the stadium.
