So far, the highway department has completed the restoration and reconstruction of 34 roads including Dongfang Road, and the remaining projects are scheduled to be completed by the end of May next year. At the same time, Fangshan District is conducting preliminary research and design on the 108 New Line Expressway and Laibao Road Expressway to improve the level of emergency transportation in mountainous areas.

The National Highway 108 auxiliary line is nearly 24 kilometers long and is an important backbone line of the Fangshan District highway network. Affected by the heaviest rainfall this summer, the 108 auxiliary line suffered many damages and traffic was temporarily interrupted. At the restoration and reconstruction site, workers are pouring new retaining walls and laying the foundation for paving new roads.

“The retaining wall here is designed to be 13 meters high and the foundation is 3 meters deep. An additional 3 meters is added to the original retaining wall to ensure that the retaining wall will not collapse when floods occur again. Dongfang Road is located in the Beigou area of ​​Fangshan and is the lifeline for residents of villages and towns along the route. Since the road that was temporarily cleared was not suitable for buses, the construction unit overcame winter construction difficulties and completed the overall restoration and reconstruction of Dongfang Road on November 15, and buses were once again driving to the people.

Wang Xuefeng, deputy manager of the No. 7 Highway Engineering Office of Beijing Construction Engineering and Maintenance Group, said that Fangdang Road is an important passage connecting Beigou. There are also 8 bus routes around it. If it is not repaired as soon as possible, it will affect the normal travel of surrounding residents. As of November 15, all eight bus routes have been restored to traffic.

According to statistics, heavy rains caused serious damage to highway facilities such as National Highway 108 in Fangshan District. A total of 54 roads need to be restored and reconstructed, with a severely damaged mileage of 238 kilometers, accounting for about a quarter of the total mileage of roads above the county level in Fangshan. There are currently 34 roads. Road restoration and reconstruction work has been completed first.

“The road restoration in Fangshan District involves a total of 34 projects and 54 roads. Currently, 24 projects and 34 roads have been completed. It is expected to be completed before May 31 next year. National Highway 108 is a severely damaged road, with a total length of 99 kilometers. , there are more than 100 major damaged roadbeds.
