Fan patch returns gold filter for Deus Ex: Human Revolution

When the Deus Ex: Human Revolution was first released, it had a distinctive gold filter that made everything shine as if it were covered in Ferrero Rocher wrappers. This was a controversial feature, and some said that the black and gold palette was the right artistic choice and a distinctive look. Others said that everything looks as if it was made of bumblebees.

When director’s cut came out, initially as an exclusive WiiU, the gold filter was removed and it was not in the PC version. Until the modder, known as Silent, began work to restore it.

You may know Silent by its patches for games such as Scarface and early 3D GTA games, paying particular attention to the graphic crashes and synchronization errors that occur when these games are played on modern machines. He also participated in the Silent Hill 2 Enhanced project.

As he says, getting a version of the gold filter that runs on Deus Ex: Human Revolution – – Director’s Cut was not as easy as flipping a switch that says “make it all shiny.” Several changes have occurred in the coverage between the two versions, and the Silent patch also fixes some of those errors.
