Fan freak: Association blocks Cristiano Ronaldo – and has to pay

His departure from Manchester United was made official on Tuesday, and now there’s news again about Cristiano Ronaldo: for slapping a fan’s mobile phone, the superstar was suspended by the English Football Association (FA) for two matches and also fined £50,000 (around €58,000) was fined.

The FA announced it on Wednesday. The incident happened last April after his former club Manchester United lost 1-0 at Everton. Videos of it then circulated on the Internet. Ronaldo had admitted his guilt and publicly apologized for it.
