Fan favorite Lim caused a big surprise at the Darts World Cup in London on Friday and moved into the second round. The 66-year-old from Singapore beat Englishman Luke Humphries, number 34 in the world, 3-2 in an exciting game. For Lim it is the first second round entry in the “Ally Pally” since the World Cup in 2018. On Tuesday, Lim will meet Belgian co-favorite Dimitri Van den Bergh. Lim gained fame in 1990 for becoming the first player ever to throw a nine-darter at a World Cup.

In the evening session, “The Machine” James Wade, seventh in the world, also competed in the second round. The Englishman could easily prevail against Callan Rydz, also English, in three sets.
