So what went wrong? The fan group’s view is clear. They cannot forgive the club for the departure of former captain Jan Jeřábek, the man who rose from the division to the league with Pardubice. However, his connection with the club ended when the contract expired, and although Jeřábek’s continuation in Pardubice was intensively discussed (engagement in the B-team plus the position of custodian or manager of the training ground in Vinice), the parties ultimately did not agree on the final terms of cooperation. The 39-year-old midfielder thus disappeared to the division Hlinsko.
Among other things, the Ultras Pardubice group also condemned the pricing policy of tickets and season tickets. But the club also has something to say about the issue. In a September statement on their website, Pardubice clearly announced their dissatisfaction with the way the boiler was presented in its old composition. “From this sector, to which the club’s management provided free entry to matches and a number of other benefits, support did not come to the extent that was expected. “Repeated expressions incompatible with the club’s philosophy have led to the termination of support for fan factions in the North Stand,” the club’s website states.
Where it is also explained what specific actions were a stumbling block. “The management was forced to react in order not to repeat the excesses from the spring part of the season, which were also visible on social networks. The last straw were racist insults – especially towards opponents with whom we as a club do not identify at all. That’s why we decided to ban this group of fans from entering the stadium,” said Vladimír Pitter, chairman of the board of directors of FK Pardubice.
In any case, the tension between the two parties involved certainly did not help the fan scene of Sunday’s East Bohemian match. “I was surprised that the atmosphere was like a church. I was sitting on the bench, the boys were warming up. And it seemed to me that there was simply not enough buzz in the stands, considering that it was a derby. I don’t want to discuss it, I don’t have exact information. But when the players of Hradec go down after the match and we don’t have it at all, it’s a shame,” lamented coach Radoslav Kováč.
“Although our fans in the opposite stands caught on, of course it’s not like having your own boiler,” said Pardubice captain Pavel Černý.
The situation is quite precarious for both camps. The management of Pardubice has clearly announced that it will not tolerate expressions that go directly against the values of the club. And the Ultras, in turn, expressed no less clearly, and continue to express dissatisfaction with some of the actions of the leadership. Solution? Out of sight…
