In Kiev, after a long illness, a Ukrainian artist, architect and art critic, poet and scientist, theorist of color music, master of violin musical instruments, Honored Worker of Culture of Ukraine and public figure Florian Yuriev passed away. Florian Ilyich was the creator of the modernist coat of arms of the capital and one of the “business cards” of the city – the Ukrainian Institute of Scientific, Technical and Economic Information of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine (known as the “Flying Saucer”), as well as the Nyvky 3 microdistrict, the Khreshchatyk metro station, a restaurant “Metro”, and many other buildings of the capital.

“This is a great loss for all of us, because Florian Yuryev was an exceptional versatile artist,” said his colleagues.

The public organization “Museum of Contemporary Art” said that the architect died early Saturday morning in a circle of close friends. He was 92 years old.

Recall that in France took place farewell ceremony with actor Jean-Paul Belmondo, who passed away on Monday 6 September.
