Famous Tamil movie-serial actor Marimuthu passed away. He was 58 years old. Marimuthu, who collapsed during the dubbing of the television serial Pratineechel, was admitted to the hospital but died. Cause of death is heart attack. Rajinikanth’s Jailer was Marimuthu’s last released film.
Marimuthu, who has earned her place in Tamil cinema, made a strong presence on the mini screen through serials last year. He has directed both films. His role as Guna Sekharan in the Tamil hit serial Opi Neechal has become very popular among the TV audience.
In 2008, he entered the directorial arena with the film Kannum Kannum. He last directed the film Puliwal in 2014. He also worked as an assistant director to Raj Kiran in films like Aranmanai Kili and Ellame En Razadaane. Marimuthu also worked as an assistant director to Mani Ratnam, Vasanth, Seeman and SJ Surya in the early days.
He entered the acting field in 1999 with the film Wally. Marimuthu’s breakthrough in acting is the role of a corrupt police officer in the film ‘Yudham Sei’ directed by Mishkin. Later, he acted as a police officer in many films like Arohanam, Niminthunil, Komban.
Marimuthu also made her debut in Malayalam with Mammootty’s Shylock. In 2021, she also acted in the Hindi film Atrangi Re alongside Dhanush and Akshay Kumar. Marimuthu’s recently released films are Vikram, Mayon, Aruva Sanda, Kannai Nampathe and Thira Kathal.
The unexpected departure comes amid Indian 2 also featuring Marimuthu in a pivotal role. Marimuthu was also acting in Suriya’s ‘Kankuva’.
