Famous Restaurant in Miami Under Investigation for Exorbitant Fish Meal Prices

High Prices of Fish Meal in Alexandria Restaurant Sparks Complaint and Investigation

Alexandria, Egypt – The Central Administration for Tourism and Summer Resorts in Alexandria Governorate has received a complaint regarding the exorbitant prices of a fish meal at a popular restaurant in the Miami area. The complaint, which was posted on a social networking site, highlighted a bill totaling 15,188 pounds for a group of 15 people.

According to the complaint, the diners were shocked by the high cost of their meal after enjoying their fish dishes. The bill included a grouper fish priced at 6,000 pounds, rice for 1,200 pounds, salads for 600 pounds, a quarter kilo of roe for 650 pounds, and a shrimp meal for approximately 2,500 pounds. The complainant expressed their concern about whether they were being scammed, particularly due to the insistence on selling a Waqar 111 fish, which alone cost close to 7,000 pounds.

The complaint quickly gained attention on social media, with mixed reactions from users. Some agreed that the prices were exaggerated and criticized the restaurant for its reputation of inflating prices compared to other establishments. Others believed that price hikes have become the norm, but the total amount charged was still considered excessive.

In response to the complaint, the Central Administration for Tourism and Summer Resorts initiated an investigation into the incident. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Razek, the head of the administration, formed an urgent committee to look into the matter. The committee visited the restaurant and discovered items on the bill that were not included in the approved price list. It was also found that the price list had been modified without proper authorization.

Legal measures have been taken, and the owner of the restaurant has been summoned to appear before the administration on Monday. The complainant will also be interviewed as part of the investigation.

The incident has raised concerns about the transparency of pricing in the tourism and hospitality industry in Alexandria. The Central Administration for Tourism and Summer Resorts aims to ensure fair and reasonable prices for visitors and locals alike.
