Famous dog breeder insists: ‘No fornication with a young girl’

The Attorney General again asked for twelve months in prison, six of which were suspended. He waited for the ruling of the court, in which Paridaans were convicted for illegal activities.

“Dammit, stay out of my hole, Jan!” That victim once shouted to Paridaans in a crowded room when he was touching her again. And that was one of the examples in court of how Paridaans worked in the dog breeding business. He was now accused again, with a claim, that he was talking about sex all day long and groping and kissing the girl. Apart from the girl (now 23 years old) herself, several witnesses also say that Jan spoke to the girl more often and that her mother found her on Jan’s lap.

The girl would take revenge

Jan was not present at his trial in 2022, but he still wanted to tell his story with a plea. In short, the girl’s story made no sense, he said. She was his daughter-in-law at the time and together with his son she took over the company later. He often picked her up in the car and was very happy with how she worked with the dogs.

But when she asked to be paid in black, Jan Paridaans intervened decisively. “That’s not possible in my company,” he said. According to him, this meant that she could no longer continue working in the company. And that’s why, according to him, she took revenge. After years of investigations, the dog breeding farm was finally shut down by the NVWA. All dogs were imported and Jan Paridaans were no longer allowed to breed dogs.

Paridaans are still fighting for their right

“The problem with this girl has left me with nothing. I used to sell 130 to 140 puppies a month, but after the problem with her, nothing, zero,” said Paridaans. “No more company, no more lover. Everything is broken.” According to Paridaans, he is currently living on an AOW pension from which the government is also withholding money for an unclear reason.

Although the court dealt with the morality issue, the issue related to controversial dog breeding was the common thread in this appeal. Paridaans kept going back to the alleged injustice done to him after an argument with the girl. Nobody wants anything to do with him now and he is no longer welcome even at his hairdresser, he said. Paridaans came in as bitter, but reiterated that he doesn’t want to breed anymore. He will continue to fight for his rights, he said. “Until I die.”

According to him, he obtained the license for the recently imported dogs from his home in Retie, Belgium, as he is allowed to keep up to eight dogs privately. But apparently the authorities think differently.

Black money reason

During the appeal, Paridaans held everyone responsible for his misery, but he did not turn a hand. He always referred to the statements of the girl and the witnesses to the world of legends. He wasn’t rotten, at most he had damaged an unhappy muscle once. All the witnesses had a different interest, he reasoned. And so Paridaans insisted that revenge was the motive for all the accusations. The girl had a bright future with the Paridaans family, but she lost out on that bright future because of the black money, he said.

The court must now decide if the court’s decision stands or if Paridaans is right in his opinion that the girl wanted revenge. The decision in this appeal case is on September 2.
