The Central Bohemian police have been searching for the well-known actor and voice actor since Tuesday. Zbyšek Pantůček, whose distinctive voice can be remembered from a number of foreign films and series, has disappeared. He told his family that he planned to travel. But they haven’t heard from him in nine days.
One of the most famous Czech voices has disappeared. The family is missing the 55-year-old dubber, actor and singer Zbyšek Pantůček. Since Wednesday, a manhunt has been announced for him, which is managed by the Central Bohemian Police.
Pantůčka was last seen by the family nine days ago. “The missing person told his son that he was going to travel. However, he has not contacted his family since then, his mobile phone is unavailable and he has not yet returned to his place of residence,” said Central Bohemian Police spokeswoman Barbora Schneeweissová.
The police have no idea where Pantůček might be moving. He did not tell his family where exactly he planned to go. The missing person is of medium build, has graying hair and blue eyes. He’s not dangerous at all.
The deep voice of Zbyšek Pantůček can be remembered by the audience from dozens of foreign films and series that he dubbed. He is the court Czech dubber of the British actor Colin Firth, whom he dubbed for example in Bridget Jones’s Diary or in the drama Before I Go to Sleep.
At the same time, his voice was also heard in a number of children’s films and series. In the animated film Madagascar, people may remember him as the adored lemur Maurice, and he also played Toy Story hero Buzz the Rocketeer three times.
But Pantůček doesn’t just hide in the dub booth. He also played in an episode of the criminal series Kriminálka Anděl or in the sitcom Helena. He also played a role in the award-winning black comedy Teroristka.
If anyone sees him or knows where he might be, please contact any police station or call 158.
