Famous bass guitarist Sasidharan has passed away. He is one of the leading bass guitarists in Tamil film music. Sasidharan played guitar for hundreds of Tamil songs, including Chinna Chinna Vanna Kuil, Kodiyile Mallikapoo, Ashai Nooru Vagai. Most of the songs were with Ilayaraja.
Bass guitar has been a popular musical instrument among Malayalees since 1982. Through the song ‘Thumpee Va …’ written by ONV Kurup and edited by Ilayaraja for the film ‘Olangal’.
