Family planning is re-established in Côte-d’Or

Family Planning is opening a second branch in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté. After the disappearance of the association in Côte-d’Or in the 1980s, a team decided to relaunch it at Longvic. The premises, located at 43 route de Dijon, will be inaugurated on March 12 and the members of the association hope for an opening to the public. by September.

The feminist movement that defends the right to sex education, contraception and abortion had only one branch in the whole region for years: that of Chalon-sur-Saône. The Longvic branch will therefore be the second to promote dialogue around sexuality, to prevent sexually transmitted diseases or to ensure access to sexual health.

If other structures such as family planning and education centers exist in the department, Laureline Siguret, who is part of the team that is relaunching family planning, insists on the importance of having a complementary offer : “It is not always easy to push the door of a place which is medicalized, it is important to be able to offer something else.” The role of the association, she explains, will be to “to answer questions that we do not necessarily dare to ask a teacher or his parents. We want to be a place of listening and welcoming for all people from the LGBT community for example who don’t have a lot of places to turn. ”
