The family of one adolescent 16 years old murdered shot just steps from his South Bronx high school is demanding al manufacturer of the arma untraceable used in the shooting.
Angellyh Yambo fue murdered on April 8, 2022 on his way home from University Prep Charter High School when Jeremiah Ryan, 19, shot a arma ghost Polymer80 and fatally impacted the adolescent with a stray bullet.
The lawsuit, filed in Bronx County Supreme Court on Tuesday, accuses the manufacturer of negligence and violating state business law.
“This lawsuit is the cry of justice of one family of the Bronx and for a future where the streets of the Bronx are safe for everyone, especially the innocent and the young,” stated the documents, which were filed on behalf of the madre of First, Yanely Henriquez.
Yambo’s death was the result of the network of dealers and online sellers of Polymer80 that flood the streets of the city of NY with kits armas untraceable weapons that allow guns to be easily assembled without background checks, the attorneys said.
He Department of Police of NY seized 389 armas untraceable ghosts last year, an increase of 700% from 2019.
Las armas can be manufactured using a printer 3D o assemble piece by piece using shipped parts and do not have a serial number.
Ryan, who declared culpable of second degree murder last year and was condemned to 15 years to life in prison, was also mentioned in the lawsuit. The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages.
His daughter was remembered as a student excellent grades and a “alma hermosa”.
“You will always know that you madre loves you forever and a day and will be here to fight for you,” he wrote in The Post last year, promising to get justice for the girl.
Henríquez started a foundation with the name of his daughter who offers classes defending personal, financial education and anti-bullying for children.
Polymer80 did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
