A family of four, including a baby and an 8-year-old child, went through the hardest time of their lives. A fierce fire broke out in their home, located in Paterson, New Jersey, and they were trapped inside the house.
Our reporter Víctor Javier Solano, from Univision 41, went to the scene of the accident, at 50 Madison Avenue, and confirmed that it occurred around 5:45 in the morning this Wednesday.
The three-story house was destroyed in several parts and with a pile of rubble in the patio.
The baby and the father had to be rushed to a hospital in The Bronx to receive intensive medical care as a result of smoke inhalation.
“We are praying that they come back and there are no more complaints about this fire,” said Paterson Councilman Luis Vélez.
Two pets lost their lives during the fire
After two hours fighting the fire, the local Fire Department was finally able to extinguish the flames.
Unfortunately, two puppies lost their lives during the fire, the causes of which are still being investigated.
Through a video captured by a public security camera, and obtained by Univision 41, you can see the moment the fire broke out and the screams of the family when the fire stalked them.
