Björn Heiser, the brains behind Horror Garden and Horror House, organizes events and adventure tours for families in his main job. This time too, the organizer is expecting around 1,000 visitors. Many come from Seevetal and the surrounding area or from Hamburg. But fans have also arrived from other corners of Germany and even from Munich, says Björn Heiser and laughs. “Word has probably gotten around that we’re a little crazy.” He gave the Abendblatt an insight into this year’s horror garden in advance.

Skeletons, ghosts and mummies scare visitors in the maze

“The show is starting,” calls the clown in a hollow voice. “Ha, ha, haaa!” Anyone who ventures past him delves deeper into a maze of tarpaulins hanging from the ceiling and wafts of mist wafting across the floor.

Suddenly a skeleton appears, sitting and swinging in a cage on the ceiling, and a wrapped mummy appears to lean forward menacingly. Then we walk along a wall that is all about Lego. In the landscape created here, trains in orange and black drive past skulls and clown masks.

In the garden, visitors can expect inflatable ghosts and glowing pumpkin heads. This is where the tour will start on Halloween; it will lead through the shed and two large tents. Here a skull flashes, there is a white coffin – still closed.

Torchlight hike in the dark gets you in the mood for Halloween

The preparation takes a year, and each time there is a new special feature. This year it is, on the one hand, the maze, in which visitors continually encounter surprises. There will also be a half-hour torchlight walk through the darkness before the opening, where children and adults can get in the mood for Halloween.

The huge dinosaur, last year’s special attraction, is also there again. So that the monster, which Björn Heiser bought directly from Universal Studios in Hollywood, can swing through the garden, the organizer himself slips into the costume.
