Family Found Dead in Possible Murder-Suicide in Rockland County, New York: Police Sergeant Suspected

Two of four members of a family who were found dead in a home in Rockland County, New York, have been identified by authorities, They presume that it was a case of triple murder-suicide perpetrated by the father, who was a police sergeant.

According to Clarkstown police, two of the bodies found dead belong to Watson Morgan, 49, his wife, Ornela Morgan, 43, while the identities of their children, ages 10 and 12, have not yet been revealed. . They all died from gunshot wounds.

Watson Morgan, who before his death was a sergeant with the Bronxville Police Department, was previously an officer with the New York Police Department (NYPD), He allegedly killed three members of his family and then took his own life by shooting himself in the head, Clarkstown authorities said.

The police ruled out that it was an event related to some type of conflict or external threat, and described it as an “isolated incident.” But the motive that led Watson Morgan to commit the crime remains under investigation. A pistol was recovered at the crime scene, which is presumed to have been the weapon used by the murderer.

Clarksville Police Detective Norm Peters, who was tasked with requesting a welfare check after Morgan failed to show up for work Friday night, He noted that no history of domestic violence was detected in that house.

For his part, Christopher Satriale, Bronxville Police Chief, expressed his deep sorrow for the loss of his subordinate and his family, and sent his condolences to the family and friends of the victims.

“The hearts of the departments go out to Sergeant Morgan’s extended family.”he said in a statement, which was replicated by the New York Post.

Watson Morgan joined the NYPD in 2000, and had worked in the Bronx Transit Office, according to police sources. In 2007, he joined the Bronxville department, where he was promoted to the detective division in 2014 and to sergeant in 2016, Satriale said.

Ornela Morgan, for her part, was a technology teacher at One World Middle School, in the Bronx, belonging to the New York City Department of Education.
