In five general practitioners’ practices in the country, people have been vaccinated against the coronavirus as of today. In the pilot phase, the most important thing is to run through the processes.
The test run serves to play through the logistics and storage of the corona vaccines and the technical processes, as Health Minister Carola Reimann (SPD) said in advance. Practices in the districts of Leer, Wesermarsch and Uelzen as well as in the city and region of Hanover were selected. At first, the districts do not want to disclose which doctors will be vaccinated, so that the processes there are not confused by a rush. Only those under 65 years of age who are authorized to vaccinate are vaccinated in the practices.

9,000 medical practices can vaccinate
From April onwards, significantly more practices in Lower Saxony could be on board, according to the minister. That was agreed with the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians (KVN) in Lower Saxony. According to information from KVN CEO Mark Barjenbruch, around 9,000 medical practices are available for this. The practices involved are treated by the vaccination centers like mobile vaccination teams and supplied with vaccine.
