Family and musical morning on the second day of the Autumn Festival – La Paeria

The second day of the Autumn Festival began today with a wide range of activities dedicated to children and families. To begin with, at 10:30 a.m., the Patio de las Comedias hosted “Lo Marraco wants decent work”, a storyteller based on a book of the same name created by Solidarity Unions with the collaboration of the Department of Cooperation.

The book is based on the popular culture of Lleida and has the objective of disseminating the values ​​and respect for Labor Rights to the boys and girls of the city within the framework of Education for Social Transformation through “Lo Marraco” , symbol of Lleida.

The presentation was carried out by the entity and was attended by the Councilor for Cooperation, Jackson Quiñónez.

Afterwards, the organization distributed a copy of the book to all attendees.

The next family activity, “Queens and Kings”, took place at the Castle of the King of La Seu Vella at 11:30 a.m. The children who have attended have had the opportunity to enjoy period games and costumes, getting to know the figure of James I up close, right in the same castle where he was crowned at the age of 6.

The Panera court, in turn, has hosted the show “How Much Is Honey?” of La Tresca and La Verdesca, marked by games and songs to make the little ones aware of the traditional legacy of different cultures; and Cappont Square, the “Children’s Animada”, organized by the Col·lectiu Cultural Cappont and in which the little ones have been able to see big heads, giants and festive animal beasts up close. The activity is a prelude to the Great Animalada of Lleida, which will take place on October 5 at the Glorieta des Champs-Elysées.

Later, in the Plaza Depósito the musical group “La Violeta” made children and adults dance to the rhythm of rumba, on the Panera dance floor a Vermouth Ball was held with music from the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s to the current events and in the Seu Vella pit area another one with electronic music that will continue all afternoon until late at night (the last DJ will perform at 11:30 p.m.).

This afternoon a large influx of people is expected at the Encuentro de bandadas in pl. San Juan, in which the Hospitalet Dansaire esbart and the Arrels de Lleida esbart will participate, and in the Gran Noche de Fuego Caña la Banya!, which will begin in pl. San Francisco with the Plantada of local fire beasts: los Marraquets and the Dragon Carrincló con el Marraco, and the guests: Dragon Nervón de Terrassa, the Asterió de Amposta and the Banyut de Solivella.

The procession will go to Av. Blondel, where the Children’s Correfoc will take place with the Children’s Alloy of the Devils of Lleida, and later, on the same avenue the local and invited beasts together with the Devils of Lleida and the Demons of the Trons, under the watchful eye of the Marraco and to the rhythm of the music performed by the Banda Retocada and the Carreter – group of grallers – and Xip Xap, will be the protagonists.
