familiarize Mauritians with new technologies

Train more than 1,000 Mauritians in new technologies, including 5G, cloud computing, artificial intelligence – by highlighting their talents: this is Huawei’s objective, which aims to move forward with the DigiTalent program, titled Huawei Talent Cultivation. The program was officially launched at the Hennessy Park Hotel, Ebène, this Monday, September 20.

In his message on the occasion of the launch, Kui Zheng, CEO of Huawei Technologies (Mauritius) emphasized the desire for his firm to invest heavily in several programs in Mauritius.
“We believe that developing ICT talent is a shared responsibility that requires joint efforts,” he said. Therefore, he emphasized the need to promote government / industry / academia collaboration.

A ceremony which took place in the presence of the guest of honor, Pradeep Roopun, President of the Republic. The President stressed that “Huawei’s DigiTalent program will indeed train several talents in ICT in Mauritius.” DigiTalent includes several training plans, including Seeds For The Future, ICT Competition, courses under the Huawei ICT academy.

This Huawei program is in line with the Digital Mauritius 2030 Strategic Plan, implemented by the government.
