Slavia will play the opening game in Lille on Tuesday, Sparta in Malmö on Wednesday.

Let’s take a closer look at the money difference between the Europa League and the Champions League, as well as the strength of Slavia, Sparta and their opponents. From a purely financial point of view, Sparta is the favorite, Slavia will face a potentially stronger opponent.

The teams that come to the Champions League, which is what Slavia and Sparta are fighting for in the double game, will receive a warm welcome immediately. Specifically, 18.62 million euros (converted to more than 460 million crowns). But game bonuses don’t end there. For a draw in the league part of the Champions League, the club will receive 700,000 euros (17.6 million kroner), triple for a win (53 million kroner).

If promoted from the group, another million euros would be equivalent to waiting for Prague, there are eleven of them for the round of 16.

If the Czech teams do not succeed in the doubleheader, the European League will still be waiting for them. It includes an immediate bonus of 4.31 million euros (108 million crowns). That is about four times less than in LM.

After all, the importance of bonuses is determined by the clubs themselves. “Income from participating in UEFA competitions is one of the important items in the club’s budget,” says pro List of Messages Spartan communications director Ondřej Kasík. “The bonuses from UEFA for participating in one of the competitions (Champions League, Europa League, Conference League) and attendance income are very interesting. At the same time, it is possible to contribute to the increase in the value of the players.”

“However, with non-participation in international club competitions, the economic activity of the club is not in any danger,” said the representative of the club, who belongs to him. At least on paper, a more difficult task awaits the stapler. According to Transfermarkt.com, the record of the French LOSC Lille is worth 241 million euros. Sparta is in a different situation. They surpass the Swedish opponent in player value by around 30 million euros, in terms of money, the Reds’ opponents must look invincible, especially the Czech team’s defense. If money were a true reflection of performance, the only close battles in the game would be in midfield.

Logically, Leten’s team leads even when comparing the most expensive players. It is led by Martin Vitík with a value of 12 million euros, in second place is Veljko Birmančevič, the creator of Spartan joy a few months ago. Sebastian Nanasi from Malmö is in third place.

And Sparta has a waiting history with its rival. Ten years ago, in the second match of the third preliminary round of the Champions League, they lost 0:2 in Sweden, thus preparing themselves not only for a 4:2 lead from the first match, but also for a chance to play in the club’s most prestigious competition.
